Early Spring bloomer, Native.
Oval, lightly mottled leaves, 3-8 inches long
Solitary white to light lavender flowers rising above sets of two leaves, nodding and primarily facing down. Flowers are 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches long with six recurved petals/sepals and a showy set of brown to yellow anthers.
Found in moist woods in colonies with many non blooming plants. Plants must have two leaves to bloom.
