Flower Description
Showy Coneflowers have a bright green pointed tip serrate leaf. They are not as hairy as the Black Eyed Susan and don’t have the cleft leaves of the Thin-leafed coneflower. These are the Perennial Coneflower, where the R. hirta is an annual or biennial.
These bloom later than the Black Eyed Susan and generally have a larger colony of plants
They have yellow rays and a brown or purple disk. These more closely resemble the cultivars we are familiar with. R. fulgida “Goldsturm” is a common cultivar,
