Very tall plant with plumy white clusters of flowers. 2-8 feet tall
Flowers 1/3 inch wide with greenish white sepals, no petals. Both male and female flowers on single plant. Male flowers have many erect thread like stamens. Female flowers may have both several pistils and some stamens.
Produces seed-like, rounded clusters of fruit.
Leaves are compound, bluish to olive green with roundish 3-lobed leaflets about 1 inch long
Common in swamps, meadows and stream sides.
Very attractive to bees and butterflies
