Tall (4-6 ft) hairy stems are unbranched until large stalk of flowers at top.
Crowded, alternate leaves are narrow, to 4 x 1/2 in, getting smaller nearer the top. Lower leaves are small with widely spaced teeth, Upper leaves are narrow and toothless. There is little or no stalk. Leaves are alternately attached and crowded along the stem.
A large branching cluster of stalked flowers at the top of the plant. Flowers are small (1/8 “), rayed and numerous, opening only slightly.
Slightly similar to Canada Wild Lettuce, but much larger plant with smaller, more numerous flowers .
