Flower Description

1/2 to 1 foot tall, Spring flowering

Rosette of smooth, lance shaped 1/2-2 ” long basal leaves with a single prominent vein.  Leaves are white and hairy underneath.

Plant produces compact, fuzzy flower tufts on a short, fuzzy stalk during the spring.  Seed heads are also fuzzy tufts and are distributed by the wind.  They resemble small, hairy toes–hence the name.

Plants colonize through stolons that root and produce a carpet of the dainty little plants. There is no noticeable floral scent.
